the practices i’m carrying into 2026
after experimenting with a variety of productivity and digital minimalism tactics, i can now clearly distinguish which habits work best for me and which do not. while I’m already practicing most of them, beginning in 2026 i plan to fully commit to these routines for the long term:
- screens: no screens after a set hour, adjusted to match my sleep schedule.
- daily movement: 10,000 steps or at least one hour of light exercise every day.
- phone detox: no social media apps or browsers installed on my phone; instagram will remain deactivated.
- intuitive eating: listening to my body’s signals instead of following diets.
- background calm: keeping only familiar movies playing in the background while working (i use a curated list made just for this purpose)
- natural sleep: not forcing myself to sleep when i’m not tired, but allowing myself to rest fully when needed.
- energy management: prioritizing energy levels over time management.
