skipping the “about” page
when I find a blog i enjoy, i usually don’t check the “about” section right away. it’s not that i dislike knowing who’s behind the words. it’s just that i don’t want my reading experience to be shaped by details like gender, occupation, or education.
i prefer to focus on the writing itself first. the ideas, the way they’re expressed, and the topics covered are enough for me to decide whether i connect with the blog.
of course, it’s good that the “about” page is there. when curiosity kicks in, i can look it up and soothe that need to know more. but at the beginning, I just want to enjoy the posts for what they are.
