one of the few opening sequences i haven't skipped
midnight diner is a gentle, understated japanese series adapted from the manga of the same name. the story revolves around a chef with a mysterious past who runs a small restaurant alone, open only from midnight to 7 a.m., and the customers who drop in, most appearing for just a single episode. it’s both funny and melancholic. i find the opening sequence and music very soothing; they’re among the very few i don’t skip:
