i hate going to hairdressers
i really dislike going to hairdressers. i’m not sure if it’s the same in other countries, but here i find the atmosphere quite uncomfortable. i don’t like someone washing my hair. i don’t like my hair touching the sink area. i especially don’t like the idea of the same comb being used on different clients.
i also don’t enjoy the small talk. they often badmouth the previous hairdresser, and once the “previous one” was them. :))
i ask for the simplest haircut you can imagine, yet they still can't seem to get it right. then i have to smile, nod, and say, "it looks good, thank you," even when i'm not happy with the result. i just don't want to deal with the awkwardness of giving feedback, especially when i know it probably won't change anything anyway.
there have been a few instances where i was understood and given the haircut i wanted, but once you start going to the same hairdresser, they begin asking personal questions and trying to sell you products. again, the whole experience becomes uncomfortable.
going to the hairdresser has become a huge source of stress for me. i feel better when I avoid it.
