droodles
i've been doing a lot of abstract painting lately, extremely abstract. no brush, no paint, no canvas, i just think about it. #stevenwright
droodles remind me of the quote above from steven wright. they are so minimal that you don't even understand the drawing at first. roger price, who introduced these drawings in the 1950s, described them as “drawings that don’t make sense until you know what they are.” that small moment of “getting it” is what makes them fun. the drawing is almost nothing; the idea is everything.
