deleted insta but missing discovering new artists?
i deactivated my instagram account on june 1st this year. i stay connected with friends in real life or on whatsapp so the only thing i was missing from the platform was discovering new artists. twitter is great for exploring new writers, philosophers, historians, etc. but instagram had been my main source for visual art.
that said, i knew i didn't really need to follow that many artists anyway. with so many options, it’s impossible to give each one the attention they deserve. plus, those endless short videos were more annoying than inspiring.
now, if i'm curious enough, i google my way into finding new and interesting work. online magazines, blogs, and art platforms are great sources to catch up and discover fresh perspectives.
turns out, the old way still works the best.
