can’t focus? try this simple reset

do you feel completely distracted, like your brain just refuses to cooperate? you sit at your desk, but your attention is everywhere except where it should be. if that sounds familiar, try this simple reset i practice. it really works.

instead of forcing yourself to “be productive,” start with three pomodoro sessions: 50 minutes of time at your desk, followed by 10 minutes of rest. but here’s the twist, don’t force yourself to work during those 50 minutes.

just sit at the table. no background videos. no music. no random scrolling. just you and the quiet.

you can read. you can write. you can think. you can stare at your notes. you can even do your actual work but without pressure. the goal isn’t output. the goal is presence.

when you remove distractions and pressure at the same time, something interesting happens: your mind slowly settles. the urge to escape decreases. focus starts to return naturally.

by the second or third session, you’ll often notice it’s easier to begin. easier to continue. easier to care.

try it. three quiet sessions. no noise. no pressure. just showing up.

you will notice that focus isn’t something you force, it’s something you warm up.
